All spring, I have been wanting to put a new wheel on my 2003 sc, but couldn't find "the one." I recently ran across the Lexani LSS 5, and I believe that I'm ready to make the purchase.
My question for you guys is the difference that you believe a staggered set-up makes on the sc? It is about a $300 dollar difference between the staggered (20 x 8.5 front 20 x 10 rear) and the non-staggered ( 20 x 8.5 on all four). Is the extra $300 worth it when that could go toward upgraded taillights?
All thoughts and pictures are welcome. Thank you guys in advance!
By all means DO go staggered! It will look sooooooo much better!
Finally after waiting 2 years to get some rims I found the "one" I want (but my dealer doesn't seem to want my money). If you're gonna do it, do it right the first time instead of having buyers remorse. After you do, you'll forget all about the extra $$$.
I'd def do staggered...it will be more worth it then the lights and I would temporarily red tint the tail lights for like 15 bones to give you a sweet look...
yes, it's worth the extra $300 to get staggered. it'll look much better.
something you may not have thought about, with that style of wheel you'll probably want to do something about the brakes. ideally, a big brake kit (which can be pretty expensive). or for less money, you can do slotted or drilled rotors. and either paint or cover the calipers. stock brakes are an eyesore.
regarding the taillights, another option is red tint. the tint runs about $20. i paid $30 to have it put on, but you can do it yourself. it covers the amber and looks much better than stock. personally, i like it better than 06+ lights. i don't like the white section in the newer lights.
After thinking about it, I believe that I would have buyer's remorse if I didn't spend the $300 extra dollars to go staggered. Actually, $300 is a decent price for such an upgrade.
Here is a picture of the wheels that I plan to get:
