Can you do it in place? Might be easier. When you take the pin out it could turn into a can of worms to get back together.

I dont have a mental picture of the pin in relation to how it goes in or out. If your going to try and remove it can you slide anthing in from the opposite end just to keep the parts in place as you remove the pin you want to work on.

Haha yeah I've read it, didn't get a chance to look at the car last night though. Just had a freak snow blizzard. Will keep you posted on my progress, along with pictures if I get the opprotunity.

Tell me about it, here's a picture from the newspaper.

That's why I have a rule, if the outside temp is over 10 degrees celsius, top is down. I'll only get to use the roof for about 6 months of the year.

Wow! That picture sure makes me sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And not the car sideways either.
Hope you have a garage. That stuff needs to go someplace else, we don't need any of that white stuff here, Right Mr. Blister (Buddy). Now to make you feel sick, it's supposed to be in the 80's (whatever in celsius, something like 35 maybe, not real good at celsius) here this weekend.

Okay so here's a picture of the pin that came out. It was hard to get a picture showing both ends of it, but you can clearly see the shaft in which it lies, so you get the idea. Near the right end of my ugly red circle is where the little cap was supposed to be that stops the pin from wiggling loose.

Now since I had it popped back in last week, it hasn't budged, and it turns out it wasn't what was causing the creaking sound. I guess the Lexus tech pulled one of the little panels off the inside of the roof beside the rear window, and didn't pop it in all the way. Once I pulled it off and pushed it back in, all is well.
