Looks like fwoIII beat me to it,
but here's my hookup anyway.
This is how my Battery Tender has been connected every winter since 2001-2002. The battery you see is the battery that came with the car. The connections to the battery are self-explanatory.
In the other pic:
A is my high-tech exotic method of securing the cable that's connected to the battery.
B is the plug that fits into the cable connector when the Battery Tender is not connected.
C is the connector on the wire that belongs to the Battery Tender unit. I run the cable through a grill opening.
