Hi all

I recently purchased a black 2003 sc430. I am very eager to replace the stock wheels and am looking for an affordable 5 or 6 spoke rim with a lip. Do you guys have any suggestions? I don't want to spend more that $2300 or so for a set of four and I wouldn't be opposed to buying used. thanks.

Whatever you choose, don't forget they'll need to accept the lexus tire pressure sensors.

Spyders and Tourmalines are always winners and there are tons of other choices out there.

+1 on the tourmalines and g-spiders for an OEM fit and upgrade look on your SC. Pros are you can rotate and will most likely not have any balance issues or wobbling and usually will not need hub centric rings. Go one step beyond and get spacers to have a more aggressive stance/placement of the wheels all the way out to the fenders!

My other suggestions are to 1) Read the wheel fitment sticky and check out other members wheels on their cars, write down the brands and 2) Do some searches in CL wheel classifieds and see if you find anything there and 3) Search on eBay...

If your car is black, just about any color rim (personal preference) looks great...I have a black 05 Pebble Beach (has pearl paint) and I have chrome rims. Some have done the gunmetal with polished lip, others hypersilver and some have black rims with chrome lip.

Most people who upsize their wheels to 20" (best tire and wheel selection over 19") go with a "staggered" set up which means wider in the rear. Front would be for example 20x8.5 and rear is 20x9.5" is most common set up. Tires would be for example 245/35/20 in front and 275/30/20 in rear which is my exact set up.

Here are a few quick searches for some nice staggered stern wheels and others:

Good luck shopping! If you really want some heavy opinions, narrow it down to two or three choices for your final pics and post a survey or new thread and ask us CL members to help you decide!

if you're open to used, you can get some very nice wheels for that price. i'd recommend keeping an eye on the classifieds here. but you may have better luck on the g35driver.com forum. g35s have about the same fitment. but they sometimes go more aggressive on the offsets than sc drivers, so if you find something you like, post the specs here and someone can tell you if they'll fit. here's a link. 5 and 6 spoke designs are very popular over there, so you should have lots of options. also, i would recommend you take your time and keep an open mind. i originally started looking for 5-spoke wheels. but i searched for about 6 months before making a decision and changed my mind. something else to consider is that stock brakes are pretty damn ugly. so if you do get 5-spoke wheels, you'll probably want to change out your calipers and rotors. so you'll end up spending a little more $$$,

as far as specific recommendations, you'd have a hard time beating aquanuke's 20" Aicona ALC 35s for a 5-spoke design. but you'd be very lucky to find them used.
