Default Key program 2003 sc430 HELP!!

My wife lost my sc430 master key about 1 year ago. I replaced the blank and had it recut only to find out the programming was like 80.00. When i checked the box the key came in I found the programming instructions for free!!

Well my son lost the instructions when he showed his friends father and now I have tried the ones on this forum but they are not working and they seem different from what i used.

Anyone have the program instrustions for the keyless? I have the chip already done..

thanks for any help!!!

Search is your friend! I searched and found these instructions about half way down the page:

add a duplicate key to the car’s computer
1. Make sure all windows are rolled up and all doors are shut.
2. From outside the car LOCK the car door with the key.
3. From outside the car UNLOCK the car door with the key.
4. Enter vehicle and close all of the doors and do not lock them.
5. Start the car’s engine.
6. Turn engine off and remove key.
7. Place master key in the ignition lock. .
8. Cycle the ignition cylinder from on to Off 5 (five) times.
9. Open and close the “driver side” door 6 (six) times.
10. Insert new key into ignition cylinder
11. Turn the ignition cylinder ON and leave on for two minutes.
12. Turn ignition cylinder OFF and remove new key
13. Open and close the “driver side” door 1 (one) time.
14. The new key will be registered after 60 seconds (one minute). The THEFT (or security) light on the
dashboard will go out indicating that the programming has been completed.

Note: I've learned through my personal programming on my 2002 SC that you can only have 3-4 keys programmed. At one time I had the emergency key, valet and two remote keys and tried to program another and was unsuccessful. Could it be possible you have too many? If so, you may need to delete all keys but the master.

If that's the case, do this:

- Delete all keys other than present master key
7. Simultaneously depress and release brake and gas pedals 1 time.
8. Place master key in the ignition lock. (DO NOT TURN ON.)
9. Within 15 seconds press and release the gas pedal 6 times.
10. Within 20 seconds, forcefully press and release the brake pedal 7 times. The Security light will blink.
11. Within 10 seconds, remove the master key. All other keys should be deleted from the car’s computer.

Delete all keys other than present master key (ALTERNATIVE PROCEDURE)
1. Make sure all windows are rolled up and all doors are shut.
2. From outside the car LOCK the car door with the key.
3. From outside the car UNLOCK the car door with the key.
4. Enter vehicle and close all of the doors and do not lock them.
5. Turn the ignition switch from LOCK to ON 6 (six) times.
6. Open and close Drivers side door 7 (seven) times within 35 (thirty five) seconds of turning the switch.
7. Within 10 seconds, remove the master key. All other keys should be deleted from the car’s computer.

The instructions above reference a Master Key. Which one is the master key and is it required in order to program? What if the master key is the one that is lost? Or is the master key simply the one I am trying to copy the programming from?

Thanks in advance.

OMG!!! Scdroptop, You know everything!!! I can't believe that you only have 776 posts. Is this your job? Knowing everything about SC's? I am truly amazed and in ah!!!
And if you don't know all about Scs then you know plenty about forum and where to find "stuff". Glad you're here. You are definitely a go-to-guy.

Well I hate to burst anyones bubble but without a Master key you cannot reprogram or program a key to start the car. With no masters, the only recourse that you have is get the ecu reflashed by the dealer or a Qualified Locksmith that has the Equipment to do it......The Black keytop keys are masters. The Dark Grey ones are not. Also one last hope for you is that if you still have the Wallet Key, it is a master! Hope this helps and explains why the instructions do not seem to work. GL

I programmed my keys last night- was pretty easy. Tried 15x to program the remote first but wouldnt take so then I tried the ignition and it took after just two tries. After the ignition I tried the remote and it worked on one try. Not sure if the sequence of which you program first has anythign to do with it.

I'm hoping someone can help me... I've been trying this process for so long..

I get to the end and when I put the new key in and turn it to ON position, the security like blinks a different pattern than normal. It goes "blink.....blinkblink....blink.....blinkblink....". It will stay like this and the key never gets programmed...

Any ideas?

How many keys do you have programmed into the system? The SC has a limit of four.

You must have met your qty on keys or you have the wrong key. Try tightening down your timing as well.

Not realizing this was back in 12/2009, read through the posts and then... bam, found out it was an old one thread.

Anyway, just in time I have a spare key that I need to get programmed.

i know this is old, but great information. I just got an SC430 with one remote and a valet key. Bought a couple of cut keys from 1010keys on eBay by sending them a picture of my key, under $30 cut and shipped for 2! I then Tried other methods to code with no luck. I then tried this way with no luck. So I finally tried the delete process which worked (valet key stopped working which was scary) and the master key still worked. Then used the learn process on the 2 new keys and the valet. All are working !!! This is amazing. Also 1010key sells the new style flip remote which allows you to swap the guts out of the old remote and use the new style which does not break - I have been using this style on my RX for years after many replacements of the old style remote head. So very cheap and no locksmith.

I believe a step is missing: In first list of instructions for programing a new key, add 9.5 "Remove master key". For whatever reason, neither the add a key or the deletion process worked for me. I am heading to Batteries Plus tomorrow for programing my new cut key. They quoted $87 in Appleton, WI. I will advise if there was any problem, but if I do not add to this comment, assume it was a success.
