Just talked to them about this car. They said the "motor locked up on it" and they had to have the engine rebuilt. Hence, that's why they are offering it so cheap.

you wouldn't get a salvage title for that. probably a flat out lie. possibly one of many more problems with the car.

seems too good to be true. but the carfax says it has a clean title, and reports no problems whatsoever

Carfax lies! You cannot trust Carfax as they rely on info getting reported to them. They do not search for issues. Run an "autocheck" and I bet you will find the problems.

You could be right. I did a quick look at AutoCheck. I didn't pay to get the full report but AutoCheck says it has 15 records for the car while Carfax has only 13 records . You just gotta wonder what the missing two records are?!

Is autocheck better than carfax? Then why should we bother with carfax?

+1, Hey Bon, it's so cheap I'm tempted just to call the owner and find out why she's off by around 10 grand in pricing!

I do not know. Carfax has never been accurate for me. Carfax spends its money on marketing and not on information. There is a video posted that justs kills Carfax on their accuracy and the guy just acts stupid! Here is the link!
