Default Cruisin for a cure-maybe next year

I went to the cruisin for a cure held at Orange County fairgrounds last saturday Sept 26 and was much impressed by:
-The number of car clubs that showed up and parked together
-number of car entries (est 3500)
-cruisin around the fairgrounds while checking out all the cars
-being right next to the OC swapmeet (good reason to get the wife out too!)
-Many vendors
-really really cool!!!

I would love to get our SC 430's together for next year. How many 430's from So Cal would like to join up or would have gone this year if you knew about it? Did any othe CL members go?

HAD A GREAT TIME!!!

Wish I lived in SoCal, so many great SC's to admire. Hardly any in VA.

I owned a 69 Vette while living in Orlando, and used to go to 2 shows at Daytona. The smaller show in the spring, the Speedway Spectacular, usually had 2500-3000 cars. The cool part was all show cars got to do a lap on the track (at 35 mph). They'd take your picture crossing the Start/Finish and in the Winners Circle - nice momento's.
The other show at Thanksgiving, Turkey Rod Run, had as many as 6000 cars in the infield. It was always fun, since everybody there had something in common - that is an appreciation for the automobile, regardless of make, model, year, etc.
Also, every Saturday night at Old Town in Kissimmee, show cars would park in a separate area, then parade down main street @ 9:00. The street would be lined with folks appreciating your ride, hooting and hollering.
I haven't found any well organized events in AZ where you can show or just show up...

In the first link, there is a nice shot of a wheel in the next to last shot on the right. Any idea what kind that is?

In the second link, the Cormaro (Corvette / Camaro combo) was rather odd.

Lots of neat pictures & cars though. Thanks for sharing.

Very similiar to what they did at Daytona - they would group cars according to make, i.e. all the Vettes together, etc. They'd also put the Mopar guys in between the bow-tie guys and the Ford guys......less fights..LOL
