Default SC 430 Starter Replacement Help & Vendor Help

I have searched but have not found a detailed write up on how to replace the starter. The starter is definitely going bad as it now generally takes 2 tries for the starter solenoid to make contact for the starter to turn instead of just a click and nothing. I know the starter is under the intake and it is going to be a major PITA. The main thing is I want to make sure I have all the right gaskets and o-rings ahead of time. I am also going to do the timing belt while I am in there. One last thing - any recommendations on a vendor to use that will help make sure I have all the parts I need?

Not sure why you'd do the timing belt while you're doing the starter unless it needs to be done. Intake manifold doesnt need to be removed for the T-belt.

I had to have my starter done my Sc400, which uses the similar setup. My advice is always use an OEM starter or get your old one rebuilt by a good shop in your area. I have heard some aftermarket reman'd starters grind or make weird noises on startup. Better to go with an OEM part from start becuase once you get the manifolds back on, you wont want to do it again.

Default SC 430 Starter

It only has 90,000. Since the water needs to be drained for the starter, might as well do the timing belt since I am at least 1/4 of the way there. I would ONLY use OEM parts although I am thinking of just fixing the starter since it is such a minor problem - the contacts that is.

Instructions sounds straight forward. This is what my repair manual says:
1. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY
2. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSY
3. REMOVE STARTER ASSY
a. Disconnect the starter connector.
b. Remove the nut and disconnect the starter cable.
c. Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire protector.
d. Remove the 2 bolts and starter.
4. INSTALL NEW STARTER ASSY
5. INSTALL WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSY
6. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY
