Should I bid or not?
With twelve hours left to go, there is a 2006 SC 430 on Ebay now going for 18,400. It has 96,000 miles on the odometer. No reserve auction, is it worth 22K?? Need assistance ASAP!

Wow...that's a lot of miles for a 2006 (My 2003 daily-driver has just over 60K).
Do you know if it's had it's 90K service? I'm pretty sure the timing belt is due at 90K. That's probably a $1,000+ service job.

It's a toss up. Try to look @ other 06s for some gauge. If it were me, I would BID! But keep up with the maintenance. These engines are crazy good, they'll last for miles and miles.

If this car could be seen in person, I'd go for it. But it being an eBay auction...I wonder if everything about this car is being disclosed. $22K for an 06 is a deal! IMO miles are irrelevant with these cars but see if an extended warranty would be available if you're one who wants peace of mind.

The seller's rating has a lot to be desired, IMO. On ebay, a rating below 98 or so isn't very good. 97.2 looks like an okay rating at first glance, but it's really not. It's deceiving. The seller has several negatives and neutral ratings...seems to be more than average. Not really what you want to see. I'd proceed with caution. I don't think I'd want to bid unless I had seen this particular car.
Mileage ordinarily doesn't concern me that much. Obviously, it was used for a lot of travel. Nothing necessarily wrong with that. What is strange, though, is that 43,000 miles were put on the car in only 13 months (from May, 2008 to June, 2009), according to the Carfax report.

Thanks, that's a great point, unless your a salesman with a very large region to cover, I can't see a person driving 43k in 13 months. Something strange, now 1hr left to go and only at 18,800 ??

+1 Eddy, but my wife gets annoyed that I have 15 SC430's on my Ebay watch list at any given time. It is a challenge to find a great deal !

As long as the 15 are on your watch list not your pay for list, shouldn't be a problem. Doesn't cost anythng to look and shop. You could be going other places on your computer that would annoy her even more! Maybe! Tell her you're just a kid in a candy store, lookin', but not eatin'.
Tromly, I am confident that you are up to the challenge! Now get crackin' and find that next great buy.
