Since there was a thread or two asking about warranties in the past and what is available to those whose warranty has run out, I thought that I'd pass this info along that I just got from one of the service managers.

I just found out that Lexus has come out with new warranties for cars under 70kmi & up to 9 years old at the time of purchase. So you can purchase a warranty even after your extended warranty runs out (like me) so long as you meet the criteria above. These are the new Lexus policies (no deductibles) available.

2 yr, 24kmiles $2600 ($1300 / yr)
3 yr, 36kmiles $3250 ($1083 / yr)
4 yr, 50kmiles $3775 ($944 / yr)
5 yr, 60kmiles $4200 ($840 / yr

They (Lexus service) also use/recommend a non-Lexus warranty (basically an aftermarket warranty). Unfortunately I don't remember what they require concerning the car but I'm thinking that it is being under 90kmi and 9 years old. (I'll try to check and correct as necessary tomorrow.) I believe that they are TSP (Total Service Protection, a.k.a. Prism), but I'll double check that also.

But it has a $100 deductible and 3 yrs is the longest warranty they have. They also have cheaper warranties that don't cover as much.

Both warranties cover the top. The Lexus is bumper to bumper, IIRC.

 

I just ran across another company called AAAutoWarranty. They are quoting 4 yrs or 60kmiles for $2306 with a $100 deductible ($50 deductible available). Has anyone heard of them or how well accepted they are by Lexus?

Kind of makes that decision easy. (That was a recommendation by that guy recommended on another thread. He said to look up USFedilus, or something like that and AAA was what came up. I'll scratch them off my list.)

AA AutoWarranty and AAA are two different companies. AAA is good.

US Fidelis is a scam.

 

I also heard that US Fidelis is a company to stay away from, nothing but crooks!

 

I always wondered how you could have an upper hand with these warranties if they have your money and all you have is a phone line and a piece of paper. Now if it is written at a dealer that is a different story.
