Default Just wondering.....

SO, with so many U.S. Lexus owners rebadging their rides w/JDM badges, etc., I was wondering if JDM owners rebadge their rides w/U.S. badging?

We could start swapping w/our overseas brothers instead of paying stupid $$$ for the badges, etc.

indeed they do. a lot of japanese soarers they rebadge everything as lexus. someone brought up the idea of swapping between two regions long ago, if you can pull that off, sure

Sure thing, actually JDM cars rebadge as a Lexus is much more common. Actually this goes for just about most cars, grass on the other side is always greener

Someone should start a website to swap all the badges, corner lights, head and tail lights.....etc, across the world. It is easy to say, very hard to do

But then again, if it becomes too easy to get JDM badges and everyone has it, it is no longer cool and people don't want it anymore.

Look at the Honda world, clear corner lights was the biggest thing 10 years ago, then everyone has it, so it become uncool. Then everyone start swapping back to the amber lenses. Now it is half and half......haha....

That's actually what prompted me to ask the question....
The grass is always greener; I guess it's human nature.

Which would you rather have?

A Toyota Soarer? <--JDM pre-2005

A Toyota SC430? <-- combination of JDM/USDM badges

A Lexus SC430? <-- USDM + JDM post-2005

Or a Lexus Soarer? <-- combination of JDM/USDM badges

Since 2005 (I believe), Japan finally had the Lexus brand. So I think that's the reason why people want the "Lexus" emblem from USDM cars...to swap with the Toyota emblems (which is what I believe KingSoarer [Australia guy] is trying to do).

I've yet to see someone in the US take off their Lexus badge and put a Toyota badge on (to be truly JDM).

I think most people, myself included, prefer the Lexus badge, it feels more upscale and cool, well that is the reason Toyota created the brand.

There is no such thing as a Lexus Soarer, ever since the Lexus brand was created in Japan, it is always Lexus SC430.

I prefer Lexus SC430.

let me clarify that technically there is no such thing as lexus soarer. after 2005, the car is sold in japan under lexus name as sc430. soarer (although same car) was sold under toyota
