Default Ebay miracle navigation overide real or fake

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus...spagenameZWDVW

The link above is to a ebay vendor offering to supply instructions and a cd to permanently overide navigation on 2002 - 2006 sc430 and other models ??

Any one ever heard of him. I thought it was just the hidden switches that we all know about but that only works untill you turn off the car. Any one know anything. I did not ask him any questions yet,

It's the same override that we already know.... don't waste your money.

Sure makes me curious.

Looks like the CD is just a copy of the instructions. According to his listing, eBay will no longer allow him to sell a strictly digital item so, he's gotta sell it as a CD.

I admit, I would be awfully ticked off if I gave the guy $25.99 and he send me a file that told me to do the up-down-up-down-right maneuver.

But, like Mr. Blister says, he talks about cutting wires...and his ad says "permanent" (Actually, I just noticed that he spells it "PERMANANETLY"). Makes me very curious.

Any takers?

I'd much rather perform the override maneuver each time I start the car than cut wires to maybe get a permanent override... cutting wires makes me nervous

I emailed him from my eBay account upon seeing mrblister's original message. So far, no response. I asked him about "permanent" and whether the fix is dependant on model year of the car or version of the software. So far, no response.

I'd be very reluctant to start cutting wires based on the word of a guy that can't spell.

I just love Ebay . Exposing parts sellers that want to sell you a replacement window kit for an sc430 to convert it from manual windows to power windows , Now I find a guy with a miracle overide bypass kit that wont answer emails. I looked at his feedback The negitives are almost comical.

You have to love the neutral feedback of "store went down and had to do transaction out of ebay. Product is a pdf on cd."

This, in total, is the response I got from the seller:

Unless you have a dual layer DVD burner then this will not work. It is permanent until the car is restarted.

So he is selling instructions on how to burn a new dual layer dvd disc and you hack into your original factory oem disc copy some files out to the disk to burn with some type of modifications of some oem files. Sounds like its a waste of time and how is it permanent untill you restart the car. So you now
will be using a booted copy of your own oem disk with some files that are changed

BOGUS Deal

Well, yes and no. This sounds like the hack where the new map info can be used with the old software system, meaning that the corner-press override will work. There is value in that to some.

Update: FAKE. I exchanged further emails with the seller and he now admits: "This will not work for the v8.1 disks." It appears that this is a packaging of the corner-press override.
