I had to replace the battery in my 2002 SC430. Next time I tried to use the Navigation System after I pressed I agree it read "Need Disk". I read the posts on this forum and reloaded and unhooked the battery again. Following the advice of one person on the forum I put the disc in my DVD player and it says "Disc Dirty". I cleaned the disc, but DVD player still gives same message. Again following advice on forum I went on ebay to try to find inexpensive disc to buy to see if this fixes the problem. There are cheap ones on there, but problem is I don't know which one to buy. Anyone know what I need to look for on the version I buy? Some just say Toyota/Lexus nav systems but don't say which cars. One was version 7.1 but said it could only be used on 2005-2009 models. I would really appreciate any help!

 

To be clear.......you are using the DVD Nav. unit in the trunk......right? I replaced my 03 version with the 2008 update this year and I had to be very clear about what system/model year of the car for it to operate properly. You can not install a new version from a later model car.

 

Look for a "generation 2/3" for the update disc......

 

Yes I am using the DVD in the trunk. I guess that is what I needed to know. Found another thread that said Gen 2/3 so guess that is what I will look for. Thanks!
