Is January, 2001 the earliest build date for US delivered SC 430s? Also, does the last number on the bottom of the sticker that shows the build date significant?

I'm not sure how to check "build date," but after being on the pre-sale waiting list for 18 months, I took delivery of the 10th one from my dealer when the cars went on sale in April of 2001. (Date of first sale, April 15, 2001.) A stretch of 4 months from build in Japan to sale in USA seems about right.

If the build date is on a sticker on my car, tell me where it is and I'll let you know what mine says, since it is surely one of the earliest ones around.

 

Build date is on the driver's door.

The 8th to last number on VIN is the year.

I "think" you're right about Jan, 2001 being first build date. Mine is 04/2001.

 

Mine build date is 02/01. No.138.
