Ticking Sound when cold
Anyone experience a ticking sound when the engine is cold and gets faster as you move faster? The sound is coming from under the engine cover to the right of center. It eventually goes away. It has happened 3 times. The car only has 7000 miles. I will have the dealer check it out but as usual, I'm sure it will be hard to replicate.

I'm guessing something in the valve train. In the old days, it would be a tappet which then moved freely when the engine warmed up but I don't even think cars have tappets nowadays.
You do mean gets faster as the RPMs increase or is it really tied to the car's speed?

you may want to run some b12 chemtool through a full tank of gas, it sounds like a fuel injector when mine get noisey on all my cars that usualy stops it, the dealer will just spray it down the neck of the throttle body, and gun the **** out of it in park and charge you 2 bills, the b12 chemtool is in a red white blue can that **** works great.

Finally brought it to the dealer. As true to form, it was making the noise when driving to the dealer. Of course, it stopped before I arrived. Left the car overnight and they could not get it to make the noise. I told them to keep it another night. Sre enough, the noise started. They said it was the drive belt.
They replaced it. It was frayed. I don't know why? The car only had 7000 miles on it and is garaged.
