From Lexus Magazine, 2008 Quarter 2, page 16 under "Vehicle Watch"

"Arriving soon: the 2009 SC Pebble Beach Edition and the 2009 Lexus LS 600h L Pebble Beach Edition. Now available: the 2008 ES 350 Pebble Beach Edition, which includes..."

No mention of the engine displacement (i.e. 430 vs. 460), even though both the LS and the ES mentioned in the article list the engine displacement.

Although from the lack of spy photos or rumors, probably no new body style SC for 2009, and from what I remember, Lexus doesn't usually debut a model with a special edition.

Any thoughts?

Maybe the '09 will only be available in the Pebble Beach Edition with few cosmetic changes. Would be a "grand" exit for this generation of SC, and a nice segway to the "coming out" of the next generation in the early spring of '09. Just a couple of hunches.

 

"The 2009 Lexus LC Pebble Beach Edition arrives this August. This year's model-to be unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance classic car show-sports a Mercury Metallic exterior, sleek black-and-ecru seats, run-flat tires, and a rear spoiler, not to mention distinctive Pebble Beach badging and floor mats."

No mention of 430 or 460 engine, just "2009 Lexus SC". The picture in the magazine also show's last year's PB. I hope they put more effort into the two-tone interior than they did last year.

 

From what i saw on another post the 2009 SC comes in opaline pearl the purple color is gone finally and it has turn signals in the mirrors.

 

I hope it's a better executed 2-tone than last year too, but I think they should have chosen a more special exterior color for a PB Edition ...

 

Im hoping the same thing myself. But whats funny is the local lexus dealer near me has a pebble beach edition for sale.

 

Then hopefully we'll get the SC 460...
