@ Pearlpower / Romini

I see the pictures in post 19 (thanks Talwang) and understand the removal. My question is that
I read some posts that stated that there a risk of losing the door lock programming if you disconnect the cables. I was asked to remove the door panels in order to reinstall my tint that was rubbed off by the rubbers seals - the tint installer wants to do the entire window below the seals (already paid for)

Is there a problem after disconnecting the cables? I was thinking of driving w/o the door panels.

Thans for your help.

I know this wasn't addressed to me, but I just took my door panels off yesterday to put in new 6-1/2" speakers to replace my blown 6x9's.

I disconnected all the cables except for the 2 thick ones that connect to the door latch. When I put the door cover back on, all the cables I disconnected, I reconnected, and I tested them to make sure they locked/unlocked before I put the door back. Everything was the way it was before I took the door apart.

I had removed both door panels a few times before, no door lock reprogramming was needed.

However, I have never driven my sc with the door panels being off or door lock/window power buttons being disconnected.

Thanks much for the responses. I will try simply reconnecting the door and window panel and let it hang to be safe. While I'm at it I might as well check out the buzzing rt. door speaker.

Thanks again.

I followed the directions and photos for removing my door panels and repairing my speakers. Taking my time it took about six hours with a nap in the middle. You folks are awesome and my audio system sounds great. Thanks for all the help.

The door panel? You are having trouble taking the door panel off?

I'm guessing the top part of the panel where the window goes down? That part you just kinda have to be patient and keep pushing it up from the bottom. I had to keep pushing at it for 10 mins until it finally popped out. Didn't use too much strength because it feels like its going to break, but eventually it'll whittle itself free. My passenger side was stuck on there pretty good, but for some reason, my drivers side popped right out.

That's it, the panel is supposed to pop out. I did it on my Pass side and it did just pop out. For the DR side, I tried and tried.

Mandyfig be sure to pop the hidden tabs out from the door at the bottom first. Then slightly pull the door panel bottom out away from the door (so the panel is now at a slight angle with the door). Then lift up and back at the same time. You may have to jar it a bit to knock it loose, just don't hit it so hard that you damage anything (including yourself).

Thanks I will try it. Since the DR side is done, the PASS side I have done before so I anticipate the panel coming off easy. Might as well replace the woofer on the PASS as well.

Hey guys i have a question i need to ask. I have a 02 lexus sc430 and I kind of burnt the top of the interior door panel ( the black part that has Faux leather that covers the speaker on the door). I'm actually trying to get that part and replace the one that i have. I was wondering is that part an individual part or it's with the entire interior panel. Because if it's seperate i can buy the entire panel and just detach it from the rest of the door panel, if not ill have to buy an entire panel that matches the trim.

Thank you guys hope i get some good advice.

Default leather panel replacement

Did you ever get an answer to the question about replacing the leather panel? I have a big white sppot on mine, and wanted to just replace the leather.
