Do people still comment on your car?
#106
two to five times a week
Somebody is either rolling windows down to compliment it, walking around it in the parking lot, flagging me down from the street asking for a ride.
But I have to agree that on occasion making the roof transition in either direction sets people off when traffic is slow or stopped.
Last week was warm enough that I went to a little italian bistro for lunch, and sat outside. When I parked the car, I decided to leave the roof down, as it'd be in sight of me anyway.
A couple of people came towards it from different directions, and started commenting on it. About then is when I triggered my LuxLink remote, and the roof closed.
As I enjoyed my salad, I watched them spin around and swivel their head searching for how that happened, after doublechecking there was nobody in the car.
They stood there confused for a good minute, and then started to back away. That's when I opened it back up. Ha!
Another time I was standing talking to a doorman at a club, when somebody pulled up in a nice BMW something or other. As he locked his car with his remote, I triggered my roof while he was walking past my car. He did a doubletake, spun around, and when he got to me, asked if I had triggered it.
I said yep, and he expressed great relief and amusement.
'Man, I didn't know what was going on, I thought I had set off some alarm or something that made the roof go back up! That's one sick ride!'
Ha!

I am so looking forward to opening-closing the top...in front of people you do not know. Some of my folks have seen it and their jaws drop...amazed!

What does LuxLink do?

luxlink question
Luxlink has to be the coolest addition to this car; unfortunately, it's no longer being manufactured.
I was lucky enough to get someone to pull theirs out of the car they were selling, and had it installed in mine.
It allows you to 'doubletap' the regular open/close button, raqther than hold it, which is great.
Even cooler, the standard remote can be used to open/close the roof, and also start the engine.
You can search for other posts on that gadgetry.
It's absolutely a must have, in my opinion, for the convenience and cool factor. Ha!
