Default Gun Metal Mod

Whatcha think about gun metal grey-colored stock wheels? I think they look pretty good on my silver SC. Cheap mod that looks original.

Doesn't look bad but could offer 'better' opinion with some close up pics, not to clear or detailed from the single shot.

The MOD is a photoshop. I did the same edits on a closer view. Wondering if I should take a can of paint to the wheels...

Looks okay to me. Better than the originals look. Do you think the paint would hold up? I guess that would depend on what type of paint you use. You would probably hate to have to touch up on a regular basis.

Good observation! Would reduce the frequency of wheel washing!

dupli color has a good metallic gunmetal paint. you could try that and then do a shot of clear. a bit of wet sanding and the wheels would look pretty good.

Looking at the close-up photoshop, I don't think it works. The color contrast between the wheels and the car makes the wheels just look dirty/covered in brake dust or something.

Painting may be an option, but may be a difficult diy to ensure you get the color right. Just my .02

Please don't paint stocks. Buy aftermarket wheels, it will make your car look better, I've always hated most of the OEM SC wheels.

Default What Are These Wheels?

Hi - I have these same wheels on my 2004 SC and got a minor scuff on the rim and am looking for a way to fix the scuff. Does anyone know the material and whether they have clear coat and are painted? I asked this question in the detailing forum and someone asked me the material of the rims - repair of scuff depends on material. Mine is just minor so want to try to fix myself if possible.
Thanks for any help,
Rustito

oh boy... chrome. not for everyone. gunmetal would look good, but i dont think on those wheels. try lookin for a new set of rims. the stock sc rims have been pretty ugly (yes, even the 06+ ones).
