Default Leather armrest

02 with Ecru leather and my drivers side armrest needs help. I had some slight brown spots on the armrest and thought it was dirt. Cleaned it with some leather cleaner and the spots became immediately darker. After awhile the color went back to the original light brown color. After several treatments the darker brown spots have become permanent. Looks like the leather has just broken down. Anyone have this similar problem and if so what was the remedy. If I need a whole new armrest, anyone know an approx. price. Thanks

i don't have that problem (saddle here), but do you know what caused those spots? juice dripping? sun block?

i would try to use some soft scrub and also a soft tooth brush and lightly brush that area to see if they can be taken out.

do it at your own risk. i have done it many times on my gs400, but it has to be done carefully

I experienced the same thing on my saddle interior. Your problem is that the dye on that part of your leather has worn off. This is common on that part of the interior. Do not rub or scrub this area. If you do you'll damage the leather. It is not a stain or spot "on" the leather. It's a lack of dye on it. The only way to fix this is to have that area re-dyed. I had mine done. It looks like new. There is a company that can help you do this yourself. It's called Leatherique. There's another company that can do this also, but their name escapes me right now. If you don't feel confident with doing it yourself, you may be able to find someone who does this. I contacted my Lexus dealer and they recommended someone. He re-dyed many areas of my driver's seat, armrest and center console for about $150.00. Good luck

I got the same problem just get new leather all around, that one company that always runs their group buys has good prices but you might have to send in your leather. Redying it or painting it isnt going to last that long.

For others, to prevent this problem, I always run a like colored soft towel over the leather as my arm is always resting/rubbing there. Wore it down good on my SC300 and Sc400. My GS400 and current SC430 not longer have this issue due to the towel.
