Default my windshield cracked?

I had my top down, got home and parked it, I closed the top and then I notice a crack from top to bottom, I park my car in the same spot every night, Im assuming the top cracked the glass when it closed, is this possible??

I got a crack on the windshield a couple of days ago
It's from the passenger side and runs horizontal for about a couple of inches. It appeared all of a sudden after I parked it for a couple of hours.

Is there anyway to prevent this windshield crack? Any maintenance or things "not to do"??? This is freaking me out!

yes, leave a bath towel on top of the windshield. This should act a a sun shield.

So this is normal in other cars in the heat?? I have never heard of it before. Or is it something specific to the SC windshield?

well i talked to some mechanics and they said they have seen the same thing happening on other cars too

especially say someone goes to work in the morning, car in bright sun all day, and then evening cools down fast before the person picks up the car

WHOA! Stunna you too! Ok this is REALLY getting me worried this is the first time I have ever heard of a cracked windshield on a car out of nowhere and now 3 people who own SCs have them!

This is the first time I head of a cracked windshield that wasn't done by road debris or something falling from a tree etc. So you mean the windshield on the SC just cracks on its own? Is it a LEXUS problem? Or Perhaps due to the large size of the window and super reinforced frame vibrations travel to the large glass and crack it? Or maybe even the hard top hitting the window too often causes it to crack? I dont hear too many of these cracked windshield problems on other forums...

Do you think its a SC430 issue? I am really thinking its because the hardtop keeps hitting the top it may cause the window to be more prone to cracks?

if your car is still under warranty, and there is no apparent rock chip that caused the crack, they should warranty it. we got ours replaced under warranty
