Default SC430 Car PC complete

http://www.asdfg.org/carpc/05-28-2007/

All done, currently using winamp as a frontend, all others seem horribly ghetto in one way or another (no directory cache, Honda logos, etc), and am happy with it except I need to go into the skin and change out the font color to something easier to read.

Switches in glove compartment to flip display back to Nav and to cut power for valet. Keyboard in trunk just in case, but I haven't needed it.

Xenarc support was always polite and friendly, would be happy to buy from them again.

Good times, wonder what the next project will be, if any.

...is the touch screen usable for the CarPC functions? ...and what is the parts list?

You know better than anyone that you can't do it without the Extron box Thanks for the pointer on that.

Touchscreen is unusable, I wish there was a way to make it work. See http://www.asdfg.org/carpc/ for other pics including a touchpad mounted to some 2" PVC sitting in a cupholder that I'm using for a pointing device.

Generic 8 port USB hub
Extron Emotia Extreme scan converter
http://www.ergonomictouchpad.com touchpad
Turtle Beach USB "sound card"
Tons of USB cable
Generic IDE -> USB/FW enclosure
Go! Power sine wave power inverter
Xenarc Car PC
Xenarc Startup/shutdown controller

... think that's it! Let me know if any other questions.

Oh yeah...sorry, it's been awhile. Anyways, I thought you may have done something like this -

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...tegration.html

He was able to attach a USB controller to the stock Acura touch screen and use it for inputs for his CarPC...I'd imagine we would be able to do this for Toyota/Lexus stock nav screens, but it looks like it's a bit more difficult to get to the back of our screen as compared to the Acura/Hondas.

Anyways, after reading that article about the OEM Acura Touchscreen USB controller...this weekend, I'm going to be taking apart the stock nav screen and see what I can find...hopefully our nav screens use a 4 wire resistive touch screen overlay like the Acura one....if so, I'll seriously think of replacing my Xbox with a full fledge CarPC...especially since I have a Treo, I could tether via Bluetooth and get Internet access

Why are you using Winamp? There are many other free front ends that are very stable & usable, Road Runner & FrodoPlayer just to name the few i've used. They are fully skinnable as well.

How do you like the Turtle Beach sound card? You didn't get the "Roadie" did you? I didn't have much success with that USB sound card. I receive much better SQ with onboard outputs.

Where in CA are you? Let me know if you need carputer help, I'm always re-doing something with mine.
