Default Grounding Kit Installed!!

I had a grounding kit that I bought from Teck’s a while back for my Sc400. Since I have decided to sell the Sc I’ve taken a lot of my old parts off the car. I was cleaning out the garage and found the wires and decided to install them on the 430.

All I have to say is if you hate the dull throttle response from our Sc’s then this is your answer. I really hated the fact that the acceleration of the sc was so….. umm how do I say it grandpa-ish ;p , you could see the mph rising but you couldn’t feel it. After about 100 miles of driving I can say that the throttle response is way more like my LS and my friends GS400, you actually feel a jerk when u floor it, and the shifts are a little bit smoother. Weather your at a stand still or you hit the gas when your already moving you can feel the car come alive. Next the stereo hits just a little bit cleaner, I usually set the base on + 1 or 2 now I love how it sounds on 0 or +1. Lastly the Mpg reader is registering about a .8- 1 mile per gallon improvement, Now during this 100 miles I drove like I always do and so I really cant tell if its an actual Mpg increase or some other factor causing the increase.

I have included 2 photos for any of you who would like to attempt this mod. I kinda used my own knowledge, and from what I knew about these cars, the engines, and grounding I came up with this layout.

I used all 7 pieces that came with my sc400 kit, Sorry for the crude picture I drew but I hope you get the point.

*Remove the engine cover (loosen the two nuts and then pop the cover off)*

1st wire ran from the passenger side fender wall to the negative side of the battery.
2nd wire went from the negative terminal to the middle of the main firewall (passenger compartment/engine).
3rd wire went from the previous firewall point to the top of the intake manifold.
4th wire went from the (top) back of the air intake manifold to the front of the intake manifold.
5th wire went from the top/back air intake manifold to the driver side cylinder bank.
6th went from the drivers side cylinder bank to the driver side fender wall.
Lastly the 7th wire went from the grounding point that is located in the middle of the main firewall all the way to the drivers side fender firewall.

I put blue tape on the mounting points so you could get an idea of what I was talking about.

I've been googling to see if I can find a kit for the SC430 and who might have it, but can't find anyone. I see that Lextacy.com has one for IS's. Where did you get your kit? Or, do you know who has the SC430 kit?
Thanks

The results you're getting might be from resetting your battery. After getting a new battery I noticed my throttle become quicker and the transmission shifted a bit odd but it smoothed out after relearning my driving habits

There is a kit available for the GS430. Anyone know if it is right for the SC430?

Thanks, I did see this Sun Hyper Ground system, but it appears to have 5 ground cables as opposed to the 7 cables in the Teck kit.

I still am interested to know if anyone has tried to use the GS430 kit for the SC430 (?).
Thanks
