Angry Help! Daizen sway loose again

Looking for advise...I bought the Daizen sway bars for my '06 SC about 3 months ago, and recently the left front end link got loose for the third time! It looks like everytime I have tightened it with loctite, it would last only about 1000 miles. I talked to my installer, and he told me that the Daizen end link is thicker than the factory one, howeve the factory bolt is too short to really tighten it properly. Since Daizen utitlized the factory bolt, he told me to contact Daizen regarding this situation.

I've sent email to Daizen and have not received a reply yet. Does anyone with 06 model and Daize sway have seen this? The noise and the hassle is driving me crazy. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I don't know if you'll get a response from Daizen anytime soon. Do a search to find out why. If you don't mind me asking, who was "your installer"?

As I remember the front link needs to be turned around. Did your installer do that?

Yes, they have done that, following the directions from Daizen exactly. They even showed it to me, saying that the factory bolt is too short for the thicker front end link, so even loctite can't do the job.

On Daizen's web site, they only recommend the sway bar for up to '04 SC430. Is it possible that something in this area changed in '05 and above?

By the way, Dan_K, why do you think they won't give me a response soon? Is the company still in business?

I hope I don't have to go back to the factory set; I still have them.

You should take pics , so we can verify it for you.

I do a search on the lexus part number. They appear to be the same for 02 to 06.
I remember you posted this before, and you installer didn't use loctite.

i believe you use the same stock endlinks for the sways right? or you are saying that the daizen bars have thicker ends?

anyway, bring the car to exact motorsport. they do a lot of daizen stuff (they sell daizen) and i am sure they will take care of you

i have had mind for 2+ yrs, never a problem

Talwang:

Yes, I have posted about this before. First time they didn't use loctite, so I brought it back to apply it. About 5 weeks ago I took it back again to apply loctite, and they told me that the Daizen sway bar end link is thicker, so the factory bolt is not long enough for both Daizen and the factory end link. And thank you very much for the info.

Rominl,
Yes, I still have the same problem. I will call Exact Motorsports to see what they can do for me.

Interesting update: I called the Lexus parts department and asked about the bolt for the end link. The guy said the bolt might be one of these self-locking bolt, so once you unscrew it, you might have to replace it. He also said from the diagram, there's a nut that goes with the bolt, and my installer said there's no nut for it. I am wondering if he has misplaced it when doing the installation? Anyway, I ordered 2 sets of the bolt & nut just in case.

Ok, I talked to the installer, and confirmed the nut is not missing. Basically he said the Daizen is a bit thicker than the OEM, so there's less threading on the bolt for the nut to hold on too. It is also possible that since it's a self-locking bolt, it might need replacement after it's removed, since this is a highly stressed point. After I receive the new nut & bolt, we will see what happens.
