Mirrors don't tilt everytime I put my SC430 into reverse
Am I doing anything wrong or is there an easy fix? Sometimes when I put it into reverse they both tilt down sometimes only the drivers side mirror tilts down, some times they both tilt down. If they tilt down when I put it back into drive they always tilt back up. Now I have the mirror control switch set to the driverside and now the drivers side tilts down but not the passengers side even when I move the switch to the passengers side.

That's what I thought, it was working and I did not touch any of the mirror controls and then it didn't work and then I switched it from the right side to the left side and the left mirror started working but the right one still does not tilt. Guess it's time to set up an appt. get a loaner for the day (with their gas, run some errands :-) ) and then pick-up the SC430 in the afternoon, hope they wash it before they give it back :-)

I did't even know the car had this feature until I read this thread (Only had the car 3 weeks now). This is not even listed as a feature for the SC on the Lexus site (like it is for the LS). I always leave the switch in the middle position. Seems kind of wrong for this to work with it on the left or right position. Center would be more logical to me. Thanks for the tip

but any case, this is a great feature for this car imho.

I have the same problem.
I have exact the same thing, at least it is the last one to fix. I started having the same problem soon after I bought the car and it got worse – from working sometime to passenger window not tilting at all My car is out of any warranties, but the dealer and
Independent mechanic both gave me the same estimate – replace widow electric motor $400 plus an hour of labor. At this point I decided I could leave with just driver side window tilting unless I can find something cheep on the junkyard, but I am yet to start my search.
Seems that your car is still under warranty, so get it to the dealer and let them replace that electric motor inside the windows.
