Default Spare Tire Conversion Kit

FYI.. I'll go to conventional tires when my run-flats run out (too harsh a ride for me). Dealer gave me spread sheet on spare tire conversion: 15 parts, total cost (incl $76.76 sales tax) is $1007.23....plus the 4 new tires. Was told that Lexus, in time, would reduce cost of kit if there is sufficient demand.

What a rip off!! After paying $400 extra for the run flats with no choice for the regular tires. These dealers are cutting their own throats by their greed.

They used to care about their customers and many of us kept buying Lexus' because of the quality and the good service and help.

I was charged $400 for the chrome plastic hubcaps for my SC430 by Desert Lexus in Cathedral City, CA. This is after paying $2500 for chrome wheels at Lexus of Glendale, no choice (they said the caps were not included) after I picked it up on March 19th. Needless to say, I will not be going back to either one of them for service except in an emergency.

I will never forget the scumbag Sales Manager at Desert Lexus challenging me to a drag with his brand new Ferrari just after I bought my SC430. What a way to impress his customers. Of course he cleaned my clock with his $260,000 high maintenance race car.

mad: I just purchased winter tires and new aluminum wheels for my SC430. The wheel air sensors were $157 each plus the spare tire and the trunk panels and brackets. It all came to almost $1300 not counting the $3K for the tires and wheels. A very expensive spare tire--but I can take it all out in the summer and have a larger trunk with the run-flats. Lexus dealer wants to charge me $90 for "registering" the new air pressure sensors. I have tried to get it as part of the 1 month check-up. Any one else have any experience with registering new set of wheels and air sensors?
