Requesting SRT Intake Installation Help

Did you un-bundle the factory wire sets and then re-bundle them after the procedure?
I unplugged them from the ECU to perform the work. Nothing more.
Did you twist the wires togeter?
Twist and then soldered.
Did you lay them side by side or across each other?
Either way would work.
Did you solder the wires?
Absolutely.
What do you suggest as the most reliable method.
Solder.
Alterations;
Did you have to modify the front of the engine cover to accomodate the intake?
Yes, a portion must be cut off. Look at my engine pic on the SRT thread. I used a Dremel type tool. Very professional and one could not tell it was cut.
Did you try to modify the heat shield to fit the SC?
Working on that now as the other heat sheild does not fit.
Hoses;
Are there 2 hoses to reconnect or 3 hoses? (The SC430 Service Manual shows 3 hoses conected to the Air Reservoir; 1)P/S Hose, 2)CCV Hose, 3)PCV Hose) I Think

Thanks alot for your help!
I am confused about hose #3 in the diagram. Does your comment mean that it will not be used?
Could you elaborate?
3 Hoses. One from the valve in the back. Just tie strap it to something secure once it is fitted.
Could you elaborate?
Hmm So after a long installation I couldnt get the SRT intake installed and had to revert back to the blitz. My iddle was crazy low and for some reason if I revved it up the car would turn off. so I have no idea what was wrong. So in an effort to debug the problem I
#1 unpluged the ecu and put the ecu back to stock form to see if the engine would idle ok.
-NOPE
#2 rewired the entire ECU again to make sure all the connections were good.
-NOPE
#3 just took everything out and put the blitz intake back in
-Worked fine
So as of now I got no clue what went wrong

a CEL flashed slighty when I reved the engine but then it turned back off. The negative battery terminal was unplugged for more than an hour.
I will probally make the meet. Not sure yet.

first I used T-taps. I figured that this is probally where it went wrong so I then reqired it all by stripping a section of the wire off then make a small hole and looping the ecu wire inside the hole in the stripped section. I am pretty sure that all the connections were fine. Is the car not supose to idle correcty with just the intake and no ecu?
Tony,
Acorrding to SRT, a solder is required. Using other means or an improper connection could mean a fried ECU. Not sure if that is the case here. I do know that they highly do not recommend running the intake without ecu and vice versa. I have not experienced either thought. Try checking the color of the wires and soldering the connections and let me know how it turns out.
