Search is my friend and I'm sure glad Pearlpower created this specific thread regarding TPMS.

Here's my situation:

1. New tires non-runflat Michelin Pilot A/S for 4-5 months and no nails or screws.

2. 18 inch TRD w/ functional TPMS. '03 w/ 56k miles and out of warranty.

3. Two weeks ago, the tire light came on. So I checked all tires w/ my tire pressure tool and made sure all tires were around 35 PSI.

4. tire light went off. Everyting's super cool and I'm a happy camper.

5. Today, in the morning, the tire light came on again. Brought it to America's Tire cause that's where I bought the tires from and they could check the status and integrity of the tires. No nails or screws. Tires were GOOD. The tire light was still lit.

6. Later in the day (afternoon), I checked all tires w/ a brand new tire pressure gauge tool. Set all tires to 35 PSI on the money. The tire light was still lit. It did not go off.

7. I did a physical walk around by looking at the rims and no signs of cracks or dents.

In the past, I've had a loose valve stem which caused loss of PSI pressure from one of the tires and I would make sure the PSI were the same which solved the tire pressure light issue. I got that loose valve stem tightened and have been fine for quite awhile. The TPMS seems to be doing it's job.

But up until now, especially today, the dang light just wouldn't go away.
I've pretty much ruled out the tires and rims. They are in good shape.

What's the answer to this million dollar question to which I don't have but would appreciate your help in resolving this minor but irritating issue?

thanks...teeman3

Tee, perhaps a bad sensor? That is what is sounds like to me.
Also, I hear that sometimes to take the pressure higher than 35psi and then back it back down. Have not tried it myself though

Most likely the batteries. Problem is they are well integrated in the sensor. They are available but the old ones would have to be unsoldered out and the new ones soldered in. Then cover it back up with silicone. Just a pain.
