WHAT? one of the rivets?! how come?! it's not tighten down correctly or what? this is not good.....

yeah now i remember. sigh all mystery solved @_@

yah, im sending to wheel techniques in san jose to see what they can do. i had two different wheel people tell me that it might be a rubber gasket b/c of the 3 piece wheel. is this true?

i dont know, but this is very dissapointing. ive been stressed over all this tire stuff. sometimes, i think maybe i should've kept it stock.

tightening the screw will most likely not do the trick. it must be the sealing compound on the multiple piece wheel (3 pieces wheels). If you buy them brand new, its kind of weird this is happening. Unless during the installation from this crapy shop which.................................

Sigh~ good luck Lisa and get those taking care soon!!

that's correct, the rivet has nothing to do with it. the sealing isn't really done by tightening the screws. put it this way, if the wheels are sealed correctly, even with couple of rivets gone, you won't leak any air

the wheels are used, lisa got them from socal. i hope it's an easy fix

sounds like if you add some sealant behind those rivets everything would be ok, but since they are new shouldnt there be some kind of guarentee on them?

Default string of bad luck..

ok guys..i just got my wheel back from wheel techniques.

well, i dont know whether to start off w/ the good news or the bad news...

ever since i've modding my car...i've been hitting a lot of bad luck..when i got my set of wheels..i got them used..but in excellent condition..only one wheel has 2 tiny tiny rock nicks on them...nothing i was worried about and im pretty ****.. i had the tps installed..bad luck at the tire shop...Now, i get my rims that was just resealed...took them a week to do..b/c everytime i would call to check up..they said it wasn't being worked on and that i should call him tomorrow and see what he finds out. anyway, after $140 spent to get the 3 piece rim resealed..holding air great as of tonight. but, came back to a few little rashes on them...maybe 3/4 size of a dime..but its there. and its big! It wasnt there when we dropped it off..now, its late and the guys at wheel techniques isnt there..so i have to wait till tomorrow to talk to them. This really sucks u guys...is it just me? or does this happen?

w/ all this bad stream of luck happening w/ my car...i have no words..but only to shake my head.

i love modding my car...but it really makes me sick to think whatever im doing is making things messier for me to deal w/..sorry guys..i just had to vent..

Lisa
I can relate to your concerns. Years and years ago I went through the same thing. Incompetent people in society not caring about their job or the work they perform for others. Then there are those that just do not know how to get the job done in the matter it should be and then become defensive or behave as if we are **** or difficult to deal with because our standards are higher than theirs and .

I got tired of taking cars into service and getting it back with the work performed but with luggage attached such as scratches, dents, nicks, or just done poorly which explains why I do almost everything myself nowadays.
Fast forward 20 years and nothing has changed and if anything got worse. Tire shops being the worst.
Problem is a good shop this month can turn horrible with just a change in the owner or mechanic. When I do find a good tire person much like my hair cutter, they are a keeper and I make sure I take care of them well. I have been known to buy everyone in the service bay lunch at times.
I wish you the best and since your taking on the taillight install, take your time and you will get it done better than anyone you could hire.
Lee

that rash could be a tire mounting issue. Like if they had a hard time mounting it and ended up adding that rash.

Also I completely agree with Lee on the part when you find someone good you take care of them and always return. Or just do the work yourself that way you know who to blame when things go wrong
