hey guys, have a 02 sc with65K...perfect car , communiting so calif.... occ 130 mph jaunts o/w lots of freeway miles..
lately i've noticed some knocking noise/like predetonation maybe, that gurgling noise when i accelerate.... like some old injector cars.... i use 91 octane gas....
what's this from and what should i do? i haven't done the 60K yet.... change oil every 4K or so.... o/w been a perfect car....
any of you guys have this issue?

any comments would be appreciated....


maybe i should put a new air cleaner....new plugs?

One of the O2 sensors is probably getting a little lazy. Wait a few weeks, the MIL light will probably come on. -Roger

 

did you try using some techron or so? that's weird....

maybe some sensors are off, how about teh tps (throttle position sensor)? shouldn't be the plugs coz' they should last till 80k miles or so

 

well, i did put a bottle of techron the other day and still driving with abt 12gallons i mixed with...
it's not all the time but i've noticed it... i did do a quick drive tonight and punched it for a few miles.... seemed to have quieted it down a bit.... i dont' know....

i hope it's not the o2 sensor....
i'll have steve at lux motors check it out....when i go in for 60K.... the car's o/w fine but...
maybe it's the exhaust vibration...? no, i dont' think so.... it sounds like carburated cars that knock..that gurlgling noise.. just a hint of it....
my 91 accord with 150K miles doesn't do this though.....

what's the warranty on these things? mine is 02 with 65K.... i have a feeling it was 4/60 at best... just missed it probably..... damn.....

will get it 'tuned' and see what happens....

try to drive the car under very hot day and see if it gets worse. cars get better response when cold

 

ok, will look for it..
it didn't do it in LV over the weekend...temp 98deg, >102 on the strip....
coming home, i did some 130 sprints, maybe it cleaned the intake a bit?!?
i 'll see how it is this week....
