Default Nav 4.1 upgrade

Hey guys can you tell me where the disc goes for the navigation upgrade dvd?

And how to get to it if it in the trunk?

Does the disk stay in the unit or do you down load the disk and then take it out?

I heard a guy is bootleging then down the street

First of all, the FCC does not have jurisdiction over CDs, DVDs or internet communications, only broadcast spectrums.

Secondly, the Nav DVD goes in the trunk, and the fact that someone in possession of the car does not know that makes me think the car itself may be pirated.

Third, you put the DVD into the very well marked drive in the trunk compartment, and it stays there. The system reads the data from the disc as needed. How much flash memory do you think that system has?

Fourth, the DVD updates the OS (operating system) to a new version, and the new version of the OS will not be able to read the older disc, so you will have no use for the old disc. And if something goes wrong, it won't read the new, crappy, stolen disc either.

Fifth, (and I only had 3 when I started) and legalities aside, the purchase of a pirated disc which is going to screw with the OS of the NAV system is foolish in the extreme, as you run a high risk of installing someting that is going to shut down the system entirely.

I'd suggest you check around to find a good price on a legit copy of the NAV disc, and then I suggest you try to find a pirated version of the owner's handbook which will show you what all the buttons, levers and gizmos do.

Mean?

You want mean?

I don't think he can handle mean.

I was realy trying to be nice, but sometimes I just can't control it, and I get carried away a little bit.

As you see above, it doesn't pay to try and be funny or show you have a sense of humor. The non sense of humor people will want to pile on you.
