Thanks. I spoke with the dealer about the clips.. they seemed real confident it wasn't coming from the clips.

I have the same problem your talking about when you step in you really don't even have to add that much pressure on it before you hear a clank... I really do think its the shocks though... it only happens when the car is parked for awhileor long period of time... never when your on the move thats a quick in an out of your car. so its kinda hard to explain it to the dealership

I had this problem with my `04 as well. I recall that the "clanking" sound took me by surprise when I first heard it; same as you, it occurred when I would open the driver's door and seat myself in the car and, likewise, I couldn't localize it. For what it's worth I was able to live with it; the sound (and it seemed more like a "creaking" noise to me) never rose to the level of even a minor annoyance for me and it certainly didn't diminish my fun with the car.

I know this is a dated thread, but I thought I'd see if any of you still have ur sc's and have found the culprit? Mine only does it when entering after sitting for several hours. It's been at the dealer for over a week and no solution as of yet. It's easy to replicate, just let it sit overnight. I'm on third mechanic and have been using this sight to help them find ideas. Latest one was the leveler bushing needing lubrication. If you have any thoughts I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
