Default TMS laps for charity

For those of you in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, this coming Saturday, May 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. Texas Motor Speedway is having their annual Laps For Charity. Cost is $25 for 3 laps. If you have never had your car on a banked race track you've got to do this. I did this a couple years ago and it was a blast. You stay behind a TMS pace car along with 10 or 15 other drivers and you are not allowed to pass. The pace car is going 60 or 70 mph. The trick is, you lag back, let the cars in front of you get some distance away, then nail it. In a PT Cruiser I got it up to about 110 mph. In my SC I would hope 130 or 140 mph is doable before catching the car in front of you. If you are interested, maybe we could meet out trere at a certain time. That would be fun to have several SC's on the track at the same time. I've never been on the track at night, that will be pretty neat, too. David

JPI,
Actually, I'm in Fort Worth. I'm going to be out there about 6:15. If you see a red SC driven by a guy with a shaved head, that's me. David
