Truck Lid Problem
I am having a new problem on my 2002 SC430 with opening the trunk and I am hoping someone can tell me what is going on and how to fix it. Here’s the issue.
When I open the trunk lid to access the trunk, the back of the lid (nearest to the cockpit) catches on the piece at the back of the seating area and flips it up. It then goes on by it and the piece flips back down.
This doesn’t happen when I close the roof or open the roof. In these cases, the trunk lid doesn’t catch on anything.
Does anyone know why I am getting this issue and how to fix it?
Thanks.

Thanks for the idea. The alignment looks good. Also, I received a suggestion to lubricate the gasket around the trunk lid. When I got it, I checked the gasket and it was very dry. So, I looked around for my tube of SIL-Glyde and applied it. Now the trunk opens without sticking. Made my day!!
