KBB Value oddity?
I’ve been checking my value on my 03 430 with 81000 miles. It has slowly been creeping back up over 15k value private party very good condition from the mid 14s over the last year.
Anyway, I checked it last week and it dropped to 13k. It was 15 k 2 months ago. I only added 1200 miles in the last two months. What the hell happened?

Welcome to CL and Congrats on your first post!!
Nothing happened. It will pick back up the closer we get to spring.
Pre-facelift years under 100k miles are consistently selling for at least $15k.
Sometimes it depends on color combo and demand or rarity of the combo.
Exterior / interior condition, maintenance / service history, clean title, etc., all factor into price.
Also, location is very important with salt belt vs southern, sunny climates.
Are you planning to sell or just keeping track of car values?

Then I think it has to do with the market and comparables that were sold between your last check until now.
My rule of thumb has been in either increase or decrease $1k for every 10k miles less or 10k miles added to total mileage, if that makes sense.
So, yes, that is surprising it would drop $2k with only a 1200 mile increase.
I suspect your $2k difference will come back in the next couple months and might increase thereafter heading into spring.
