Question Why No Heated Steering Wheel?

Why did the Sc or any Lexus from this generation not get heated steering wheel? Even my 98 540i had a heated wheel and that was the best thing ever in this weather. I don't think it was even an option, didn't have it on Gs430, Rx330, Rx350 or even Ls430 UL.

Any body have any luck finding aftermarket or steering wheels from other models that fit the SC? I've looked and it doesn't seem like anyone makes after market wheels for SC. But there's plenty of options, wood, carbon, leather for the newer cars. I wonder if anyone has figured out what works with the SC to cross reference? Maybe swap the airbag also if needed.

Maybe it is because nobody really cares. I live where it gets cold, I have nice leather driving gloves and I don't care that the wheel isn't heated.

I suppose with the beautiful wooden steering wheels from this generation, it was hard to implement a heat source. Who knows?! Just a guess. We used to have a RX330 that also had the beautiful wooden steering wheel that didn’t heat up.

Would it have been nice? Of course it would’ve.

Did your 540i have a Lexus comparable wooden steering wheel?

Our SC is currently in storage/hibernation mode as its intention is for our weekend fun-in-the-sun car, and we also aren’t bothered with not having a heated steering wheel.

Our Lexus SUV is our winter daily and thankfully, does have a heated steering wheel, and in the summer cooling seats which are also nice to have…

Maybe because they were going to be stored in the winter?

im sure you can retroactively fit it in, but the problem is the steering wheel is mostly wood veneer. So the elements would be limited to the 9-3 positions and that's about it.

Well it's a hard top convertible so I expect they were thinking this is gonna be a year round car. Yea the heated wheel on the e39 was all leather.
