What type of oil y’all use for transmission and rear differential I’m planning on changing them out. Thanks in advance.

 

Toyota WS for gear box (or equivalent) > here I use Swiss manufacturer Motorex , with one drain and refill you can change about 2L of the fluid out of the ca .7 that is in there, rest will stay in the gearbox.....i do drain and refill with every other engine oil service, also added ATF with one of the changes
For the rear: it is written on the side of it which type it takes, mine was 75W-90 > also went in with Motorex there and with ceramic additive....

 

Pretty sure the 2003 SC430 has the 5 Speed Transmission with a dip stick like my 2004 SC430. The owners manual calls for Toyota ATF Type 4. I use the Toyota Type 4 in mine but there are equivalents out there. I don't believe Toyota WS ATF is compatible.

 

ah apologies, mine has 6 speed, there toyota WS is a fit. Thanks for catching this.

 

2003 SC has 6 speed trans? That's strange.

 

from what i read is that 2006 is the year it started with the 6 speed closed system, the older years have a 5 speed with a dip stick. I could be wrong, i remember reading about it when doing some research.

 

@Matt_Dom must have a later MY with 6 sp trans.

Yes, you're correct 2001/2002-2005 have 5 sp trans | 2006-2010 have 6 sp trans.
