I'm currently running into an issue with the auto top on my car. When I try and open the top, it stops half way through similar to the picture below (not my car, just snagged this from the internet). Pressing close does get it back shut with no issues, it just seems slower than usual when going back into the closed position. I did manage to download Techstream on my PC, I am just not too familiar on how to use it to get the codes for the top. Couple questions below:
1) In Techstream, is there a specific process I have to follow to get the top codes?
2) I have read somewhere on a forum that the top has to be active to get codes, what exactly does that mean? It has to be in motion when pulling codes?
Based on your description, there is probably something wrong with your PACKAGE TRAY.
Watch this video of the top opening and closing. You can see first the trunk opens, windows down, then the top starts coming out and then the part near the back window (Package tray) folds up. My guess is your package tray isn't going up
As far as getting codes. You need to go to the convertible top part of techstream and push the button. As the system goes through the process, the convertible top computer is looking from feedback from the sensors. Most people can't get theirs to move, so they get codes right away. You won't get any until it is time for your package tray to move.
