Electric bunnies
Hi there Lexus folks!
I have an 02 SC430 just passed 150k. It rained hard yesterday and now the hazard lights intermittently goes on and off. After 1-20 minutes it shuts off.
any suggestions on how to stop this or does it come with a 23 yr old car…
issue 2: windshield was just replaced and the right side body cover flew off on the freeway. I bought a replacement on eBay but how do you keep it on there without flying off again? Glue?
is there a specific part that keeps these down?

Lol, that sucks. Sounds like you need to go back to whomever replaced your windshield and get them to redo the job because obviously it's leaking water into your dash electronics. The windshield garnish shouldn't fly off at any speed. They probably didn't order the right lexus clips and broke a bunch and said f-it send it out with broken clips.
If the water damage is severe enough they may of totaled your car. I'd get a space heater in ASAP put it on low and leave it in there for 8 hrs to try and drive out all the moisture. And check all the fuse boxes. 1 in the hood, 1 driver's side foot well, 1 in the trunk. If you have a good insurance policy i may contact them to put a claim on the car.
they may have you take it into a lexus dealer to confirm that the windshield was indeed installed incorrectly. Idk what your policy covers.
either way you need the windshield reinstalled correctly. That usually involves a new peice of glass because they'll probably break it trying to get the other one out.

It's not something you can re-seal without replacing the whole piece of glass. The RTV seal is a specialized job. Dont let anyone try to sell you on anything less than removing it again and full re-seal.
Good luck.
I've had a less than positive experience with SafeLite with a side window replacement.
As a result, they aren't going to do any more work for me.
Make it a point to watch them doing their work.
Cheers
