interesting reviews about the SC
The SC series might have been discontinued for lack of sales, but it shouldn't be too difficult for you to acquire one today. Prices are quite low at an average of just under $5,000 for a 2005 model, however, interest in this model has been growing so you'll need to move quickly.
The cheapest one on Autotrader is a flood car, ask is $5995.

I went on Car Guru's.com and the cheapest SC430 was $13,000 with 146,000 miles, but that was within 100 miles of where I live, so I did a nationwide search, and I found models in the $5,000 to $8,000 range, but they all had something wrong with them, unfixed damage, flood damage, salvage titles, very high miles, rust, worn out seats, this one here is $7,000: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...9/NONE/DEFAULT
Not sure about you, but that car I showed, just doesn't appeal to me!
So then I went and changed the parameters, took out all the salvaged, all the previous accidents, stolen cars, and then lowered the highest mileage car that I would accept to a max of 100,000 miles, and the cheapest one was 12,900 with 94,000 miles, but it's black so I can't tell in the pics if there is any color shifting going on, I could if I saw in person, but black hides that stuff in photos.
One I saw that said no accidents was 12,900 but the rear quarter panels on both sides had a color shift so someone bought it messed up, rebuilt it, registered in a state that washes registrations of having a salvaged title then registered it again, and now they're selling it as never being in an accident. Some independent dealers will repair cars they got at auction that never went to an insurance claim, then they try to pass the car off as having a clean car fax. I know they do this for a fact because I caught them at it! I use to own a small fleet of classic cars, I know this stuff, I know what to look for, and I will stand there pointing out the crap they're trying to pass off onto some unsuspecting fool, and they will, but just not to me, sometimes these places are so stupid as soon as they're done repainting it they stick it on the lot, you can smell the paint! And they're trying to tell me it's never been crashed, it has a clean car fax; LMAO!
These SC430 cars are going up in value, even now, a model like mine with my mileage is about about $5,000 more than I spent.
Here's a funny one, tell me what you see in this photo, then read what the Car Crap says: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...1/NONE/DEFAULT

You were mistaken so I disproved your point!

Coming from someone who has owned 5 SC430 in the last 15 years (and now currently a 07PB) , I’ll say this , each time I sold my SC thinking I want to move to a Benz or Porsche I come back for another one because I realized nothing out there can match the build quality, the unique shape and reliability of the SC430.
BTW and each time I sold my SC 430, I sold within 2-3 weeks at 95% of asking but everyone I owned was clean Carfax ,1 owner and dealer maintained sold between $22,000- $27,000. I think I might have lost a $1,000 -$1,600 at most each time I sold when I sold.
The last one I owned was a 02 Cristal white with 52,000 and it was sold within 2 weeks at full asking for $22,000. Lady from Seattle flew into CA and asked I first take the car to
lexus for inspection and after inspection, paid me cash at the bank on the spot
If you are looking for one for a song, they are are now out there and plenty of them but most likely damaged, , high mileage, repainted, multiple owners etc.. but for the collector or someone who want a clean one, the nice one will continue to command demand ..my current 07PB and no I didn’t pay $15,000 for my 07
To give you guys more perspective from a SC fanatic

Doesn't affect me, I'm not selling and I've put >25k miles on it in 3 years.
Pre-2006 are going for a lot less, particularly with high miles. Prolly some bargains out there, but not $5k bargains. Maybe $10k for ones needing some love.
Cheers
