However, I have not tried one in more than a decade and at < $15 it is worth a shot.

That is probably why Gman recommends the cassette adapter. It is a for sure physical connection

Both FM transmitter and Cassette adapters are easy and cheap solutions, but the sound quality is usually not good, and there is an interference when using the FM transmitter.

Yes cassette doesn't sound good, poor audio quality, and you can't raise the volume at source too much, same with fm, you just lose the quality plus some times you get interference with other people's transmitters
