Techstream cable for 2002 SC430
OK, if people smarter than me are not going to answer, you are stuck with me. My SC is a 2002.
Here is what I bought: I bought it from a different vendor that was useless for support, I don't know if this vendor will be any better. I figured it out on my own.
Each time I encountered an error blocking my way forward I would google the error and always found a fix. I installed it on a Windows 7 laptop.
You can most likely get enough help from people on this forum to get it up and running. It took me a couple of days to get it to work, but it does now.
While you are at it buy this too: Then do this with it to disable pin#14 and eliminate the errors that require a jumper wire and a reset procedure. Read post #24 on this thread.

For 2002 SC you don't need latest software or 2.4 firmware cable. Any version 10.0 or later with cable 1.4 will do.
The installation on Win 7 32 bit Window is easy and straightforward.
I would use Version 12 . Stay away from version 13. Don't know about the latest versions. Like I said, you don't need latest version for your SC, unless you want to use TechStream for newer model vehicles.

Thanks for the advice guys. I actually ordered a cable that says its version 1.41 firmware that comes with version 15 of techstream off ebay before anyone posted anything. For the vsc lights, do they come on in all cases unless I disable the pin #14?
Key off
jumper wire between pin 4 & 14 on the OBD2 port
Key turned to run position, do not start
when VSC light starts flashing, turn key off
remove jumper wire
turn key to run position and wait about 15 seconds before starting
lights should be out
done

Watch that version 15. Mine came with a 32 bit and a 64 bit version. I sent it along with a old XP laptop to BGW70 to install and forward to my son to use on his 05 SC. In the process of installing BG found a virus on one of the versions. I think it was the 64 bit version but don't remember for sure. Hopefully BG will hop on with the info. He installed the 32 Bit version on the XP laptop and forwarded it to the son it has worked great. I believe he cleaned the 64 bit version up and now is running it himself. This has been several years ago so I hope I have not screwed the facts up.

Just an update. My ts cable finally got delivered today and I was able to try it out. I installed version 13 from the person on this youtube video:
I also installed vci chip drivers from here:
https://ftdichip.com/drivers/
I was able to connect to the car and communicate, the app crashed at a certain point. I also got the vsc abs signal flashing after connecting. After stopping the engine and restarting the car the vsc and abs signals stopped blinking so perhaps it was a glitch. Any reason not to use version 13? I could not find version 12 and am running Windows 10 64 bit. Thanks.
