Another suggestion to customize: instead of spray painting the sidemarker backing with reflective silver/chrome paint, I think it would look much cleaner to paint the backing body color----ie: gloss white on white, gloss black on black, gloss red on red, etc... I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier. maybe it's because my paint code is nearly impossible to match

There is a lot of "business" in the thread. Anything else, take it to PM guy's.
Hah, don't worry man I'm done with the "business" aspect of this thread . We'll keep the rest of the discussion focused on helping people do the mod correctly, and hopefully get some more pics of the finished product. I'm very interested in seeing a body colored sidemarker

Hah! That's hillarious. I just came to the same conclusion a month ago. Last summer I painted the turn signals on my Eclipse a transparent red to match the color of the car. I'd been trying to figure out a way to get my turn signals to shine orange through the red for a while (looks kinda dumb rith red lights up front...and it's illegal, though I don't think anyone cares). It wan't until I read through this thread about making your own sidemarkers and painting the background that it hit me.

I'm getting an AC kit later this month (already bought it, just waiting on shipment), and when I have it painted I'm going to have the paint shop shoot the inside of the turn signals. The car is platinum, so it won't look much different than a regular clear signal on a platinum car, but I'm hoping it just blends in with the body that much more.

Should have pics in a month or so...

Access to the very same paint that's going on your car, that should turn out as clean as it can get

Make sure you prep the surface first...
