Wow, looks like I got screwed on this deal. With all the serious orders accounted for, I'm still left with $130 worth of 'inventory' that is useless to me. This plus a $450 ticket I just paid sets me back quite a bit. I suppose I'm lucky in that there are more expensive lessons out there to learn.

However, this will be the LAST time I have these made, ever. So if you ever want to do this mod for this cheap, here's your last chance. Thanks to the people who actually followed through--glad I could help out. To the rest of you, if you can't even follow through on a $7 commitment, what are you doing in a Lexus?

People thinking of organizing future group buys: soak this in because the pricier the merchandise, the more flakes you'll get. We're talking about $7 here.

Wow, unbelievable! I am sorry to hear that.

SUGGESTION: Seriously, set the final date (like end of next week or so). After the due date, make these parts only available for sale through "Classified" and priced them over $10 or $15.
People who want it so bad already followed up and paid at this time.
We are talking about people who just jumped on first and still thinking about it or getting this part is not so important for them. These people are not bad people either. It is just matter of priority on their mind. This part is worth more than $15 / pair in my opinion. They will buy it if they want.

They shouldn't post it if they will not follow up in reasonable time frame. We are not making a shopping decision in the store here. If they want to think about it more, sure they can. But they should pay retail price for it.

You did this for other CL members to share the excitement of enjoying clear lights.
It is not the matter of you making money out of it. As a matter of fact, you are not making any. You are doing a great service for fellow CL members by spending your time and effort like many other CL members are doing. That is why I sent little more money for appreciation.

I am sorry if I went off a little.

How awful. That's a lot of flakes. After a while, you may wish to post a flake list, so the rest of us know who we are dealing with. And I don't think I am too much out of line in saying that this sort of thing would be unthinkable just a few years ago. Draw your own conclusions from that.

Hopefully Tech is right and you'll probably eventually sell them all as others come across this thread and the classified ads.

(I doubt this is much consolation, but I've have had some expensive tickets, too.)

I agree, post a flake list. I'm only saying this because people asked you to get this stuff and knew you'd be coming out of pocket to do so, that's a committment on their part and it's shameful that they backed out of it and left you stuck like that

A flake list should be reported for the simple reason that these forums also have a classified section. If people are having buyers remourse on a $7 item, we should call them out on it when they call "dibs" on ANYTHING else in the classifieds, and do so until they buy the blinkers...for $10-$15. It'll be like those bad checks in the Quick-E marts.

I would post a flake list, but the problem is the order list was compiled based on CL names alone and Paypal only tells you the email and full name. A lot of the Paypals I received have no immediate association to the CL screen names unless the person has the same name/email as their CL name or they commented their CL name in the payment. As a matter of fact, I received a Paypal from Shirlynn M. for some covers, but she didn't specify in the payment what her CL name was or what kind she wanted. BTW Shirlynn, I emailed you about that but never got a reponse back, so one way or another, let me know what kind you wanted. The only way to get a flake list is to match up payments to CL names and eliminate them from the list, which I might end up doing eventually.

Ahh, good point. I thought everyone would have mentioned their CL name, as that's the name they reserved their set with.

I also find it hard to believe that there have been over 10,000 reads on this post about clear sidemarkers and you can't get rid of what has got to be the best solution short of dropping $150( ) on a pre-made set.

WOW...that's bringing a dead part of the thread back if I've ever seen it..

He said CD covers worked good, except they scratched too easily, which is what I had thought when I read about it initially.

If you're going to home make the covers, might as well spend a whopping $7 and do it the right way. That's like the cost of two DIY car washes....and in a months time, which will still make your car look better?

Rich, you are doing an awsome thing, but wrap it up, this is turning into a classified and can't stay in the main forums if it continues.

There is a lot of "business" in the thread. Anything else, take it to PM guy's.
