I am trying to re paint mine and was wondering how or if it has to come off?

 

Start with taking the rear sear out, you do this by pulling up on the rear seat bottom (it simply pops out from the front, but pull up hard). Then the rear seat backs come out (two bolts on the bottom, and then the top pops out). Then you'll see the screws for the rear panels. Remove those and you'll see how the window trim comes out.
Sry that's a hasty response, but it's 130am and I'm on my iPhone. There are more detailed picture instructions out there if you search. But those instructions should get you there, it's really easy actually..

 

I honestly don't know how people do it without destroying the molding. The way it clips on there, it's like it has to be done before the glass is installed. There are studs with nuts that hold the window in but you also have to cut the window's rubber free; it's like windshield adhesive and it is NOT easy to remove. Most people talk about cutting the window free with a piano wire-type setup as if they were removing the windshield. The glass & trim will come out together and can then be separated.

 

It's not that hard. Look in my build thread in my sig; if you scroll through it, I posted a link that I had found a while back that helped me out a lot. Mine came out with virtually no trouble at all.

 

Search on soarer central , a user on there did a DIY to remove that trim.

 

I just popped it out. I'll use silicone sealant to put it back in.

 

Oh, i thought he meant the inner window trim..

 

And no, you don't have to remove the rear seats or any other interior parts at all to pop the moldings off.
