I recently started at looking into doing something my 92 tail lights, and came up with just painting over UGLY orange. I wanted to swap them out for 95-96, and change the top to clear, to match my clear corner lights, but I just couldnt find any that was at a decent price. Now I am wanting to POSSIBLY paint my new chrome emblems. What do you guys think? Paint or leave chrome? I have the original pearl white paint on chrome rims and redone black/grey interior. I wanted to go with a smoke grey or black to match the taillights. ????? Lastly, what about the factory chrome tips? Paint or leave alone. Heres a few pictures.

i painted mine black a few days ago.

 

+1, I dont think the darker emblems, lenses/lights looks good on a light color car. I would wait till you get a hold of some 95-96 tails or even better maybe some +97 tails if you like them.

You should clear out the top of ur 92s. I think that would look the best

 

Thats my thoughts exactly. I only found one thread of how to clear the 1992 tails. Is there any more? I may just drive it like it sits for a while. I did look at several write ups on the black emblems. Thats what aroused my attention to doing this.. Paint or not to piant. Keep the comments coming. I DO NOT like the 1997 tails.

I think the black looks 100% better than the orange, all day long. Thanks for the comments.

 

i like the half paint tails (See sig) and chrome like emblems. But for sure get the 97+ tail lights also I used a polycarb type paint and I painted my emblems (well one of them for now) a black chome type kinda like the black pearl oem emblems. I can get a pic tomorrow if u wanna see how it looks
