Default taking out the chrome trim

i decided that i want to paint my chrome trim, black. but thing is im not sure how to go about it, i was either thinking masking it and spraying it while its installed there, but then i would really worry about overspray since my car's PW.

so i was wondering if anyone knows how to take off the chrome trim and only that. If i would have to take out anything else thats neccessary i wouldnt mind.

haha its as if you took it for granted but so now you rock the chrome?

and also has anyone done it with a pearl white sc, or any pics of it at all on pearl white/any white?

I suggest masking it and painting it yourself if you know what you're doing or having a body shop do it. Here's how mine came out. I don't miss the chrome at all...

as always ^^ haha chanh55, we all know how your car already look soo nice&clean :P but about painting it, do you suggest primering it? i was planning on doing a thin layer of primer and then about 2-3 thin layers [after each has dried]of gloss black. what do you/guys think?

It's very difficult to remove the trim, i know because I tried it at a junk yard.
Chances are you will also bend it
So, masking is your fast way, just make sure you mask it well.

thanks for the warning sc3lovely.
i guess its final that ill just keep it in there and just mask it, and mask it real good haha. im just scared about messing up with the paint, and also scared about not liking what comes out. i guess i could go with the vinyl or blackout tape, or some other kind of alternative for temporary use and see how it looks with a white sc.

i kind of dont want to end this thread so lets keep sharing ideas about window trims!
