Default Compiled production numbers

After coming across the Lexus.com "Knowledge Center" in another thread that listed most things you'd want to know about your specific year, and the fact that it's slow at work, I compiled the numbers together because there's always "how many of my year" or "how many 5-speeds" threads.

Once again, these numbers are from Lexus.com.

I took one of the 93 MT's out of this world by an extreme total. brings the number down to 909. or 908 if you count the one I have now.

What I really want to find is a hardtop SC300, as rare as those must be (one member on here has one, other than that I haven't seen them).

Even the overall numbers are pretty rare. There are a lot of cars that people would think are rare that have higher production numbers. The total number of SC3/4 made is about the same as the total number of Jaguar E-types made or the number of 1st-generation Corvettes. And carnage among SCs is surely higher because most of them were DDs and most of the survivors appear to now be DDs for teens.

Very much moreso with the 98-00 cars. I spent 5 years looking for a VVT-i SC4 before I found the right one, and then I saw those numbers and realized why it was so hard. Compare the 2,418 SC4/VVTi with the number of 8 cyl Ferraris produced in the same 3 years (somewhere around 8-10k).

I lucked out and found one in decent shape....

I want to know specifically how many 5-speeds came in each color. Or any SC for that matter.

A Teal Mist 5-speed would be pretty rare too.

This is an easy-to-read chart...great find Gunnar

Interestingly, the NHTSA shows different total numbers than Lexus. They are generally pretty close, but 97 differs by about 15%.

(scroll to bottom and do a 'search by vehicle' for lexus sc)

Love the info. So many people wish they had a hardtop, someone needs to design a panel.
