Not the first attempt..... It was done back in 2004 under a prototype, but the technology hadn't caught up to the idea. We needed much more powerful led's and 5 years later the market is finally producing led's with enough power to allow us to take a second look at ice tipped needles. We got a little ahead of ourselves
We've been tapping toes waiting on the market to catch up to the early prototype ideas.
Now we have the juice and we're looking at exploring the idea again. It is terribly hard to photo these so we had to cut the power down and contrast to get the blue to show up. You get the point
In terms of chicken and egg, these came before the TRACKER NEEDLES experiment.
They are very powerful and bright, but I can't get a photo of them wide open. It just looks white on camera.

Nice* ...I'll decide one of these days... I'm so conflicted.
I know the title is Ice tips, but is it possible to get different colored tips, or different colors running the length of the needle besides white?

Cool............thats a nice idea. I have that on my Sc but only because my needles are starting to go out on me and the only thing that works are the tips of the needles. Its pretty neat actually. But I need to get new lighting soon.
