I did a search here for SC windshield and nothing came up. I must be doing something wrong, I've never found anything
I'm wondering how hard it's going to be to get one. Been checking the usual suspects, dealers, online auto stores and get the ___discontinued notice
Am just starting my search for one. Have a crack that started on the lower driver side, got repaired now reaches the middle of the windshield
So again how hard is it going to be to get one? Can't imagine a glass shop will have one on hand. All tips and help welcomed. Thanks
Hey Joe - I believe the OEM windshields are NLA, however, I'm on my second windshield and my local auto glass company is always able to supply me with a decent aftermarket replacement. Make a few calls and I believe you shouldn't have a problem having someone come out to replace it.

I should have checked with the "Glass Man" to start. Good to know. It happened this weekend and wanted to know if I was in for a hassle.
Actually looking forward to the new glass. This one has a few miles on it. LoL
Thank you Rudy___Joe
Haha you got it Joe! We don't do any auto glass here at our shop these days (way too much competition for way too little of markup) but it doesn't hurt to be in the know.
Nothing like a fresh piece of glass to look through, that's for sure!
Rudy-- based on what you current know are there still several manufacturers offering front windshield glass for SCs on the aftermarket? Or is is just a couple now? I last got PGW glass but I think they are out of our market now.
My windshield was replaced by the previous owner, he used Safelite because he claimed he wasn't able to find OEM, was done between 2015-2020. You could try seeing if Safelite near you has SC windshields.

I have considered buying one example and putting it into storage just in case. Not sure how iffy that would be transporting and moving it though. Rudy could comment on that
I do believe there are a couple aftermarket brands out there still. They certainly aren't OEM quality, but they do the trick just fine. Transporting them is another thing lol - most people don't want to mess with shipping them and I certainly can't blame them (if they do you'll pay an arm and a leg lol).
Have you not been able to source an aftermarket one through a local auto glass shop? My local supplier shows stock on two different aftermarket ones. These are "cheapos" for sure, but I've got one in my car now and to be honest I would never know the difference if you never looked at the logo in the corner.
I have heard rumors that some auto glass companies can come out to make a mold and will produce a few units for you. No idea what it costs, but, knowing that there are aftermarket units out there I wouldn't settle until you find someone that can get one for you.

No I haven't I'm buried in a ton of snow. Been snowing for more than a week. Got a foot of fresh snow last night
Haven't been able to get anywhere and no ones been able to come to my place. I would think your getting some yourself
Anyway there is not much in my area, but there are a couple I'm going to try, and its good to know this stuff when I do, especially the availability and especially the prices, so I don't get "soaked" !
I had to replace my windshield glass several years back and had to use aftermarket glass.
Be sure that the glass has the bracket needed for it to hold the rear view mirror and the installer has experience in properly removing the mirror from the broken windshield (and not losing the small ball bearings) and reinstalling it.
That ended up being a horrible issue for me when the installer broke the mount on the mirror and I had to order the replacement parts and it took the dealership (at a huge cost) to get it all assembled. Costly lesson.
Thanks Duck for that costly lesson, I think I have already lost the original rear view mirror. Probably w the last windshield instal. I will bring all this up with the installer.
The one I have now looks too Rinky Dink to be OEM

Just a few weeks ago is when I had a genuine Toyota glass installed in the front of my car. Green tint around the top is still available for 97 models. Some use Bronze tint but not sure which years. I used City Wide auto glass in San Diego if you want to call them and ask where they order their Toyota parts from.
